Roxy Ruoxi Hong is based in London and grew up in Wuhan and Hangzhou. Her work challenges traditional notions of identity and explores the complexities of the human psyche through a variety of media including sculpture, virtual reality and performance art. Hong's artistic practice is centred on the absurd, allowing her to delve into uncharted territory and re-evaluate the current subtle shifts in individual subjectivity and existing values and psychological desires. Her work often touches on themes such as bodily boundaries, the female psyche, the individual and collective body and provocative imagery, while questioning assumptions of identity and prejudice.
